Freight And LTL Safety
Safety on the highway and in the workplace reaches deep into our corporate culture. YRC Freight employees are among the safest in the industry. This is no idle claim; it's backed by hard data.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) initiative monitors driver fitness, driving records and vehicle maintenance with the goal of improving truck safety and reducing accidents related to commercial motor vehicles.
YRC Freight remains CSA compliant and continues to receive enviable scores. To learn the current YRC Freight score, visit the CSA website and enter the YRC Freight DOT identification number (DOT-071821).
In addition, our professional drivers rack up millions of miles safely driven; score well in the American Transportation Associations' state and national safe-driving programs, including the National Truck Drivers Championship; and serve as captains on America's Road Team.
Regarding occupational health and safety, our written procedures, regular safety meetings and ongoing training have resulted in a consistently low OSHA DART (Days Away/Restricted or Transfer) rate.

The five KIP Keys are simple but sound approaches to some fundamental health and safety issues. The KIP System is not a "safety focus of the month." The Keys will always be central to injury prevention in our operations at YRC Freight.
