National Champions

A Proud Heritage

YRC is proud of the safety accomplishments of its professional drivers who compete against the industry's best at the U.S. and the Canadian National Truck Driving Championships.

As Richard Seigle, 2002 U.S. National Champion in the 3-axle class stated: "I participate in the Truck Driving Championships because it's an ongoing test of the skills and knowledge that will make me a better professional truck driver."

For David McDonald, being named U.S. National Champion in the twin trailers class at the 2001 ATA National Truck Driving Championships was a personal and professional thrill. "It's like the Super Bowl," he said. "Or winning the lottery. It's just incredible!"

We are proud to have had great success at the National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC). We are the only corporation in the history of the event to have had a three-time Grand Champion. Since 1990, six of our drivers have been named Grand Champion, and in the past seven years, three YRC drivers have been awarded the Neil Darmstadter Professional Excellence Award.
