YRC traces its roots back to 1924 when A.J. Harrell founded a bus and taxi service in Oklahoma City which he called Yellow Transit Company. Six short years later in Akron, Ohio, the Roush brothers were establishing Roadway Express.
Over the years, Yellow and Roadway grew separately to become the two dominant brands in the industry. In 2003, these industry leaders came together under the banner of Yellow Roadway Corporation, but both brands remained strong and independent in the marketplace.
Now, we've taken the next logical step in our transformation. YRC integrates the power and pride of both companies. With one integrated network, we deliver the strongest transportation and logistics portfolio in the business — and more direct service points than any other provider.
This new combined network offers your company more efficiencies and greater focus on your business with one management team and one set of drivers. Additionally, you can take advantage of more consolidated pick-up and delivery areas and faster response times. As a YRC customer, you,ll not only benefit from the most comprehensive network available, but also from our improved, and very flexible solutions.
We're doing everything in our power to assure a totally seamless, smooth transition to the most comprehensive transportation Network in North America.
