2 YRC Drivers from Delaware and 1 from Alabama will compete at the 2009 National Truck Driving Championships [05.18.2009]
Three YRC drivers will join the ranks of YRC Worldwide drivers who will compete at the 2009 National Truck Driving Championships:
- YRC Driver Robert Baker Jr. of
Dover, Del., won the Flatbed class in his state. Baker has competed at the 2001 and 2004 NTDC.
- Alphonso Lewis, a Montgomery, Ala., YRC driver will compete in the 3-axle class. Lewis competed at three previous NTDC, 2005–2007. In 2007, he was named National Grand Champion.
- Another Dover driver, Keith Powell, also earned the right to proceed to Nationals to compete in the 3-axle class. Named Delaware State Grand Champion this year, Powell is no stranger to the Nationals, having competed in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2008.
These YRC Worldwide drivers will represent their states and YRC at the 2009 National Truck Driving Championships from Aug. 17–22 in Pittsburgh.
