YRC Reimer Domestic Canada FAQs
If it's quick answers you want, we have them. We've put together this list of shipping questions we are asked most often. Remember, too, that an excellent source of information is always the YRC Reimer facility nearest you. Our field experts are happy to help you with any questions.
The following is a list of the most-common questions we hear from customers...
- How do I determine whether a destination point is served directly?
Our Online Routing application shows direct and non-direct points. Otherwise, your local service center can help. YRCReimer also publishes an annual Service Guide that lists all our direct and non-direct service points.
- How do I obtain a proof of delivery or delivery receipt?
If the shipment is fairly recent, the fastest way to get a proof of delivery is by using our online Shipping Documents tool. You may also request that delivery receipts be faxed to you by calling our Voice Response System at 1-888-4REIMER or 1-888-473-4637.
- Does YRC Reimer offer transport beyond Canada?
We provide seamless service throughout the entire North American trading market, including the United States, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam, plus export services to many destinations throughout the globe.
- Does YRC Reimer transport dangerous goods?
We have partnered with a primary chemical producers association in Canada and its Responsible Care Program since its inception. Through continuous training and compliance programs, our field employees are also knowledgeable about procedures for transporting dangerous goods.

- What types of products does YRC Reimer NOT accept?
We transport a wide variety of products, but there are certain prohibited or restricted articles that we cannot accept for shipping, including (but not limited to) antiques, works of art, precious stones, jewelry, currency and hazardous waste.
- What are shipping classes?
Different types of products—from chemicals to machine parts to toaster ovens—are defined according to their makeup. Each product definition is called a classification. The National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) tariff categorizes shipping classes. The NMFC tariff is a publication for motor carriers containing classes, rules, item descriptions and ratings of all goods moving in commerce. There are 18 possible classes, ranging from 50 to 500. Typically, the higher the class, the higher the rate for every hundred pounds you ship.

- How do I calculate my shipment's density?
Our online tool and step-by-step instructions make it simple. Knowing your shipment's density is useful because a shipment's density helps determine the cost of shipping.
- How do I know what class of goods I'm shipping?
Most manufacturers and professional transportation managers are participating members of the NMFC or are familiar with their products' classifications. If you're not sure of the proper classification for your freight, contact a YRC Reimer representative or telephone the National Motor Freight Traffic Association at (703) 838-1810.
- Whom do I call for more information about a specific service or product?
YRC Reimer sales representatives are well informed about the wide array of products and services we offer and are happy to help determine how we can best serve you. See our Services section for more information about our shipping solutions.
- How do I get information about my shipments?
